Fred Thomas – Voiceover [Video]

Following the release of his critically-lauded 2015 album All Are Saved, songwriter/producer Fred Thomas entered a period of enormous transition. He quit his job, got married and moved to Canada, all between multiple tours that ran the spectrum from sold out opening slots to sleeping in the car after empty gigs.

At the end of yet another tour he returned to Athens, Georgia, to again work with producer Drew Vandenberg (of Montreal, Mothers) on an album aiming to encapsulate the nonstop changes that had sprung out of this phase of his life.

Naturally, this record is named Changer and is out now on Polyviyl Records.

The Friday Fire Track: Feral Ohms – “God Of Nicaragua”

Feral Ohms was formed in 2011 by three Bay Area underground rock vets. One of those being Comets on Fire co-founder Ethan Miller. Loud, super-fuzzed, and absolutely fierce. The amazing part about this band is how underground they have been but not anymore. All of that should quickly change. The Oakland group just released the … Read more

Marching Church – “2016” [Video]

Over the past weekend, Marching Church released the video for their song, “2016,” off new album, Telling It Like It Is. Elias Bender Rønnenfelt describes the video: “We have reached the very tail end of 2016, the year which also spawns the title of this song. This is our attempt at a testament. Marching Church burns its calendar in a feeble and useless longing to undo the past 365 days marked by consistent atrocity, wronging and slaughter, while also taking us through recent ocular memories from the orient and its dirty pearls.”

This is an album that we still have in the review queue and one TFN recommends checking out. Marching Church also has a string of tour dates over the next few months, which you can check below, so if you are up for a solid live show get it on your calendar!
