The Cowboy hail from Cleveland, Ohio and you can hear the hardworking city grit in this premiere track/video “Virtual Traveler.” The song is off their forthcoming album, Riddles From The Universe, which marks their third full length release and second for Feel It Records. The album officially will hit your speakers on October 15, 2021.
You might not think that the short runtime on “Virtual Traveler” is enough to get the full groove of The Cowboy but listen again. The band pulls from the last three decades with their style of punk that touches The Damned out of the 70’s, a bit of Angry Samoans representing the 80’s and the garage punk likes of fellow Ohio band New Bomb Turks and California’s The Humpers from the 90’s. The separation from the past is that the trio of The Cowboy harness that historical vigor and mix in a 2021 moody delivery that pairs well with Detroit’s Protomartyr.
“Virtual Traveler” is a great sample of The Cowboy’s razor sharp chords and their no nonsense attitude.
