The Friday Fire Track: Elephant Stone – “Knock You From Yr Mountain”

Nothing like getting a quick follow up from Montreal’s Elephant Stone. It was just last year we were grooving to their psychedelic self-titled record! Fast forward a year and the band is back with another sitar-infused indie rock record in Three Poisons.

The Fire Track today is “Knock You From Yr Mountain” and it highlights the band’s best qualities. The song also features background vocals from fellow Canadian based singer Malika Tirolien which uses her soul to give the song some extra heat. The final piece that gives Elephant Stone their edge is their careful use of reverb which fills the edges of this track and embeds it permanently in your head.

Three Poisons will be released next week, August 26, via Hidden Pony Records. You can find the limited LP at Hidden Pony and the cassette version over at Burger Records. Enjoy!
