METZ: “Dirty Shirt” / “Leave Me Out” 7-inch

METZ
Dirty Shirt/Leave Me Out 7”
Sub Pop Records [2012]

METZ is easily one of my new favorite bands this year and this 7-inch release was limited to pre-orders of the record. Both non-album tracks hit hard like only METZ can and are great additions to the self-titled record.

“Dirty Shirt” is filled with energy and contains a riffing guitar that keeps your feet moving. The song has a very Nirvana type vibe as the rhythms pulse and the vocals move from controlled to almost screams. “Leave Me Out” is also full instruments to the wall as the memorable chorus hits and will have you singing along “You gotta leeeeave me out”.

The packaging here is on the standard Sub Pop labeled sleeve and the wax is black with a traditional large hole. This was an easy six minutes to spend with a record and METZ is only going to get better which is the exciting part!
